scatterbrains

for the love of god someone ask me for music please. (I'm starting to feel a strange sense of futility with this. But I want to share. So.)

I'm seriously considering giving up HP fandom-- not giving up being a fan of the books, but seperating myself more fully from fandom itself and all its attendant wank and theories and ships and stupidity. Because the more I think about this new canon, the less I want to see what the fandom as a whole is going to make of it. (specifically the stupid parts of fandom, which are huge and unfathomable.) So there's my pretentious asshattery for the day.

Got in more imps today. Sometimes one will overpower all the others in the mailing. Last time it was Wicked that did it. This time, all I can smell on any of the vials is Gluttony (sticky, almost sickly sweet and very foody), but I'm thinking of maybe cracking open Maenad for the roof party tonight. If we're going. Amber, are we going?

Julia's being punished more; she cursed at my mom again this afternoon after leaving the house without telling anyone. She won't listen to a thing anyone else says even when we're trying to offer good advice.

I slept from 7:30 to 1:30, woke up far too warm and struggling out of some weird dream. I showered twice yesterday, once before work and once to rinse the dye out of my hair, and I need to do it again because I feel gross and sweaty. Summer sucks. Except for the part where it doesn't. Maybe I'll go sleep more out on the porch. Hm.

My mom makes these (usually) delicious little cheesecake tart things. This time she made them with Splenda. Not so good. Why must she ruin delicious things with crappy sugar substitute? I know she's been using Splenda instead of sugar in the lemonade and kool-aid. I'm not getting any skinnier from it, and it just tastes bad. Eurgh.

I was going to express my sometimes infinite ignorance and ask you what in the hell an imp was (at least in this context) when I guessed it might have something to do with this BPAL thingee (which also had my mystefied until I found your link to it). After a lil perusing of their website, I'd love to know what you think about the quality of their products. Even here in the Seattle area its hard to get quality oils and the like, and almost impossible to find a decent herbalist. Its one of the few times I miss Nevada.

So far? The quality of BPAL oils I've tested is always good, whether or not they smell good on my skin. I wish they all smelled as good as they did in the bottles!

If you want to check my wishlist/own list, I'd be willing to send on an imp or two to you if I have something that you think you'd like from the list. (I think Lear is the only masculine scent I've got now, not counting Golden Priapus which you can't have because I LOVE it xD) It's a good way to get familiar with the product without sinking lots of money into it. (I get my imps from [info]bpalmarketplace because ordering straight from the lab is taking 2mo+ to arrive.)

Thanks for the offer, but I would feel bad depleting your supply. I will, on the other hand, ask for some recommendations for manly-type oils and some neutral ones too (to make my pimp-cool Beetle smell nice).

Well, if I get any scents I can't wear (masculine scents with juniper/pine turn to cleaning products, honey/milk goes to baby powder, god only knows what else I might find), I'll offer again. ;) If you use the SEARCH on the BPAL site, you can see just the gender-neutral/masculine ones...

Maybe I could talk to Julia.. I'm not part of the family so I might be able to get through to her, ya know? She left her cell phone clip thing in my car. Okay, now. I may have to ask you for another favor. Can you link me to the BPAL site? I have a very small (and half empty :*( )vial of a pecuilar, but DEADLY to the opposite sex oil blend known only as Vampire Lestat. Ring a bell? Also, Toki Ni Ai Wa has been played over twenty times by itself since I got it.
